See the Cute 12-Year-Old Presenter That Stole the Show at the Critics Choice Awards
Jude Hill won over the audience at the star-studded ceremony.
There’s a lot of star power at the Critics Choice Awards.
The event, honoring the year’s biggest film and TV, gathered some of the biggest and brightest Hollywood stars in one room—but one actor completely stole the show about halfway through the ceremony.
And that actor was Jude Hill.
The 12-year-old Irish star—who won Best Young Actor for Belfast last year—hit the stage to present the award for Best Animated Feature, flexing his funny bone in the process.
“After starring in Belfast, all the young actors ask me all the time if I have any advice on how to stay normal and grounded in “the biz.” That’s what we call it in Hollywood,” he said, adding, “And I do have some advice I learned first-hand. First, stop calling it “the biz.” Your friends at school think it’s really weird when you call it that.”
“Second, ask your siblings if they think you’re cooler now because you’ve been in a big movie. Spoiler alert: they don’t,” he explained as the crowd erupted in laughter.
He continued: “Lastly, do your chores. You might be big time now but you still have to pick up your underwear. And also, don’t call it big time. The kids at school also think that’s weird too.”
Fans took to Twitter to share their adoration for the young entertainer, with one sharing a clip of his presentation, writing, “#JudeHill remains as charming and adorable as ever #criticschoiceawards”
The fan also added that they are “Manifesting a future project with #JudeHill and @RealGDT,” referring to director Guillermo Del Torro, who won the category for his live-action adaptation of Pinocchio.
Another fan was also enchanted by Hill’s humor, tweeting: “Jude!!!! Ahhh That kid is a gem! What a little star! He did so well! What a little charmer haha”
Next up, Hill can be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming murder mystery, A Haunting in Venice.
