See Every Look From Miu Miu's Fall 2019 Collection

Miuccia Prada's current vision for the house includes lots of capes and camouflage.

To have one designer working behind the scenes at multiple houses — as Miuccia Prada does at Prada and Miu Miu — means that there will be occasional design overlap. This season, that was most evident in the profusion of capes on both runways. But while Prada's iteration tended to be darkly and delicately romantic, Miu Miu opted for sturdier versions of the garment made of shiny black patent leather and faux shearling that looked ready for a journey through a dystopian wasteland.

In fact, the whole Fall 2019 Miu Miu collection could have fit that theme. While A-line minidresses, sheer fabrications and bright florals were sprinkled throughout the collection, the ample use of camouflage, military-inspired pockets and dark colors made the overall vibe feel much more somber. Flirty cuts and some delicate details ensured there will be plenty to appeal to those who come to Miu Miu for its sweet, girlish signatures, but chunky boots paired with dresses and long, loose trouser shorts looked almost battle-ready. We're filing this one under "how to look cute during the apocalypse."
