See the queen's sweet tribute to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Queen Elizabeth II is like any other proud grandmother.
In a recent image of the royal taken during a meeting at Buckingham Palace, a previously unseen photograph of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is prominently displayed on a side table. Eagle-eyed reporters from Hello! were the first to notice the tribute to the two.
The queen was pictured meeting with George Brandis, the Australian high commissioner to the United Kingdom, on Wednesday morning.
In the background of a photo taken during their meeting, a framed picture of Prince Harry and his then-fiancée sits front and center on a side table in the sitting room. The couple appear to be in a formal setting, much different from the casual and romantic portraits that have been released to the public.
The shot is believed to have been taken by Alexi Lubomirski as part of the engagement photo session.
Lubomirski is himself descended from Polish royalty and is a prince by title. The New York-based fashion photographer has worked with other celebrities, including Beyoncé, Julia Roberts, and Angelina Jolie.
Lubomirski also served as the official royal wedding photographer. He was referred to the royal couple after a friend of Markle’s saw his work on Instagram.
