See the Real Life Photos from the Apollo 11 Astronauts' Visit to Buckingham Palace

On July 20, 1969, the world watched Neil Armstrong take "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," as he and Buzz Aldrin became the first people to step foot on the moon. Following the historical moment, the astronauts (including Michael Collins, who stayed behind to man the ship on the mission) and their wives embarked on a world tour to celebrate their achievement.

One of their stops, of course, was London. They traveled to Buckingham Palace and met with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and other members of the royal family. This meeting appears in the third season of Netflix's The Crown, but read on to see what it looked like in real life.
