See Selena Gomez's Telling Lyrics From Her Upcoming Album, 'Rare'

Selena Gomez is releasing her new album, Rare next Friday, January 10. She's been spending the first few days of 2020 in Hawaii with friends, but with Rare is clearly on her mind. Starting this weekend, Gomez began teasing lyrics from her new album.

There was this black-and-white image with the message, "Feels so good to dance again #7DaysToRare."

On Saturday, she posted a polaroid of herself with the caption, "If the only other option’s letting go—I’ll stay vulnerable. #6daystoRare"

On Sunday, she posted the below photo and wrote, "People can go from people you know to people you don’t. #5DaysToRare"

All of these lyrics could apply to the singer's former relationship with Justin Bieber. In 2019, she already released "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look At Her Now," songs that are about the on-again-off-again relationship.

These lyrics could be about a lot of things, of course, but this album follows the final end of Jelena, and it is naturally Gomez's way of processing that time of her life.

Taylor Swift, who is Gomez's close friend talked to Zane Lowe on Apple's Beat 1 radio in October about how she has watched her friend transform after a tough few years.

"The things that she’s overcome, the situations she’s risen above, it’s been a long time since we were friends and she’s the best," Swift said. "She’s just the best. I’m really excited because when somebody has had great life experience, has had really tough things they’ve had to go through and they can process that and make art that’s going to help other people, that’s what kind of song this is. I’m stoked."
