'See you soon': This popular Peoria BBQ restaurant takes annual summer vacation

On June 22, The Smo-King Pit announced, "It’s that time of year again already!!"

Time, that is, for the BBQ business's annual summertime hiatus. The restaurant, which closed on June 28, plans to reopen on July 7.

"Thank you guys and see you soon!!" the business wrote in a later Facebook post.

The Smo-King Pit menu features beef brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, catfish and more ? which can be served by the pound, on a sandwich or as a dinner plate. Customers can also find a half or full slab of ribs.

The BBQ business was a finalist in the ribs category of the 2023 Official Community's Choice Awards.
