Apr. 4—From art classes to historical celebrations to wine and beer samples, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this week's edition of See St. Joseph

St. Joseph is well known for many historical monuments, but one of the most noteworthy is the Pony Express, which will be celebrating its 164th anniversary this weekend.

The celebration begins at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, with a ribbon-cutting in front of the Pony Express stable doors. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., there will be a rounding up of western artists with displays and presentations by the artists themselves. Each building on the Pony Express campus will host its own celebration, including showing off new museum displays of artifacts donated by families in the area. Residents can also view the Pony Express Museum and campus building all day Sunday, free of charge.

The YWCA and Pop's Place are teaming up to host the Cornhole for a Cause tournament and silent auction. There will be a blind draw with a 50-50 payout, a silent auction and refreshments available for purchase. The event will be held rain or shine and is kid-friendly, so why not bring the whole family? Registration is $20 per person. Proceeds raised will go to the YWCA's Community Support Department to provide clean outfits and hygiene products to survivors of sexual assault. The tournament kicks off at noon Saturday at Pop's Place.

The Albrecht-Kemper Museum is inviting artists of all levels to Florence Painting with Pastels workshop.
