On Sunday, Jan. 7, a clip of Gomez chatting with Swift, and Swift's plus-one, Keleigh Sperry went viral on social media. Lip-readers attempted to decipher what Gomez said to the women—along with their responses—after Swift's jaw dropped during the conversation. This, in turn, started a rumor that Gomez was gossiping about a run-in with Chalamet and Jenner.

Fast-forward to Tuesday, Jan. 8, and Gomez set the record straight. In the comments of an E! News Instagram post about the reported drama, she wrote: "Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone business."
