Selena Gomez Hospitalized for Emotional Breakdown
Selena Gomez has been admitted to an East Coast mental health facility, TMZ reports. The site notes that it's the second time in two weeks that she's sought urgent medical care due to an "alarmingly low white blood cell count."
Sources tell TMZ that during the last week of September, Gomez was driven to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after she became emotional and despondent because of her white blood cell count. The site notes that the condition could stem from her kidney transplant. She was released from the hospital after a few days, but had to be re-admitted after the symptoms persisted.

After she was admitted the second time, she reportedly had "a meltdown" and "freaked out." Sources told TMZ that it was an "emotional breakdown." Currently, Gomez is on the East Coast and receiving dialectical behavior therapy — also known as DBT. She's gone through it before, so it's not a completely new experience for the actor and singer. TMZ adds that there have been signals from her camp in the past few weeks. Gomez didn't attend the American Music Awards last night and the site notes that her team has been virtually silent recently.
Late last month, Gomez hosted an Instagram Live, telling her followers and fans that she'd been facing depression for the last five years. Soon after, she left all social media channels.
