Selena Gomez Makes Passionate Plea to Fans Amid Hailey Bieber Drama

The 'Kill 'Em With Kindness' singer is making it clear that she will not stand by silently.

Selena Gomez is finally speaking out amid the Hailey Bieber drama.

In a point-blank statement, Gomez penned a passionate plea asking fans to stop sending Bieber death threats.

The singer made it clear that she will not stand by silently, nor will she let threats of any kind go unchecked.

In a black-and-white post shared to her Instagram Story, the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” crooner wrote, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.”

“No one should have to experience hate or bullying,” she continued, emphasizing that this isn’t what she stands for.

Gomez summed up her statement writing, “I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop,” along with a heart emoji.

Bieber responded a few hours later via her own Instagram Story.

"I want to thank Selena for speaking out as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I. The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved, and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community. Moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together. Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say including myself. In the end. I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion."

The messages come on the heels of a rumored ongoing feud between the Rare Beauty founder and the Rhode Skin creator that really gained steam in February.

It all seemingly started when Bieber was accused of bullying Gomez after she spoke out about being body shamed for posing in a bikini while on vacation.

Shortly after, Bieber uploaded a now-removed video to TikTok alongside Kendall Jenner, mouthing the words to a viral audio clip, “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right,” which fans interpreted to be a dig at Gomez.

Gomez got wind of the video and seemingly addressed the shade by commenting, “It’s ok! I don’t let these things get me down! Be nice to everyone! X.”

Bieber later denied that the video was directed at Gomez, noting, “I never comment on this type of thing but we were just having a girls night and did a random tik tok sound for fun. It’s not directed at anyone.”

A month later, Instagram users accused Bieber and Kylie Jenner of trolling a photo Gomez shared after laminating her eyebrows “too much.” Both Jenner and Gomez spoke out denying the claims, explaining that they have no bad blood with each other.

Gomez later defended her friend Taylor Swift when an older video of Bieber shading the musician went viral. "So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game,” she weighed in at the time.

It all culminated with Gomez beating out Jenner for the most followed person on Instagram.

While these are the most recent additions to the Gomez/Bieber saga, their alleged beef dates back all the way to 2018 when Bieber sparked a relationship with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber. Gomez and Justin dated for eight years on and off. He wed Bieber in September 2018.

It seems that it’s time to leave the past in the past, because we’re certain Gomez, like her good friend Swift, would “very much like to be excluded from this narrative.”
