Selena Gomez Says Hailey Bieber Told Her She Was Receiving Death Threats: I ‘Really Want This All to Stop’

Selena Gomez used the most forceful terms she has ever this morning to ask for the TikTok discourse comparing her and Hailey Bieber to stop. The actress posted a message on her Instagram Story, revealing that Hailey contacted her. During their private phone call, Hailey shared that people had been threatening her life amid allegations users on the social media platform had been making about Hailey being a mean girl and not always treating Selena kindly.

Selena wrote, “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop. ??”

This isn't Selena's first time trying to get fans to stop scrutinizing Hailey although this is her first time explicitly referring to Hailey by name. On March 6, Selena thanked fans for their support on her TikTok and added, “Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health. My heart has been heavy, and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

Since the TikTok drama began, neither Hailey nor her husband and Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber have commented on the drama on their own social media channels. But during Hailey's Call Her Daddy interview in September, Hailey spoke about the hatred she received from people online having a tremendous toll on her mental health, particularly “when things can get really dark, and you can start having thoughts of, like, it not being worth it anymore or not wanting to be here anymore, which I have had before in the past.”

She said that her support system helped her through those moments, “Sometimes I don't think we can comprehend [those thoughts] on our own because then you just throw yourself back into like, a vicious cycle. I do think sometimes you need to express it and you need to go to someone who is going to feel safe for you and support you in those thoughts, not make you feel like you're crazy or that you're wrong for feeling dark and deep and heavy.”

She also revealed that she and Selena had talked before privately and were on good terms. “Yes, [we have spoken]. Yes [we have spoken after my marriage],” she said. “So that’s why I’m like, it’s all respect, it’s all love. It’s also why I feel like if everybody on our side knows what happened, and we’re good and we could walk away with clarity and respect, then that’s fine. Which had brought me a lot of peace, and I’m like, ‘hey, we know what happened. It is what it is.’ You’re never going to be able to correct every narrative, and there’s going to be new ones that come [from this interview]. It’s never going to end, and that’s why I get to the point where like, that’s why I didn’t speak about a lot of this stuff because I’m like, there will be something new. ”
