From survival tips to things to avoid, these full moon to-do's, straight from the professionals, will help you make the most out of the transit.
When is the September full moon?
The September full moon, known as the Harvest Moon, will take place on Friday, September 29, less than a week after the Autumnal Equinox. This yearly happening kickstarts Virgo season and expects us to initiate a new chapter of the year, one that focuses on ourselves and how we're aligned with our goals. Expect some of the energy from the Fall Equinox to make its way over to the full moon.
What to expect from the September full moon
Given that we're working with Aries, you can of course expect things to feel bold, impassioned, and as is the case with all fire signs, intense. (But that doesn't necessarily mean bad!)
"The month ends with a bang with the arrival of the September 29 full moon," said our in-house astrologer, Narayana Montúfar.
What to avoid during the September full moon
Alright, so we know our beloved fire sign *might* cause things to feel more dire than they actually are, so take a step back. Above all else, astrologers warn us not to react during this lunar phase.
"Around this time, it will be key to avoid impulsivity, as there will be an air of conflict within relationships," Montúfar noted. "Under this energy, the connections that no longer give room for freedom and authenticity might end."
Since we're expecting the spiritually-focused Equinox to have an influence on the full moon, we're not surprised to hear that we're working on ways to realign ourselves; just make sure you're not hasty, even if you are parting ways with particular relationships or habits.
As sources from Moonly state, we're also working in the realm of "inner energy, spirituality, and creativity" during this time, all of which are positives, but don't let the hot-tempered Aries tendencies let you lose sight of reality. During this event, we should also be exploring fulfilling activities like meditation, drawing, dancing, etc.—anything that will help us navigate "the period of high energetic, subconscious potential," per Moonly.
What to expect when the full moon is over
What will happen when September 29 wraps up in our calendar? We can expect clarity and harmony, and we might be feeling more social, per Montúfar. (Halloween party, anyone?)
According to Moonly's pros, we'll have "inspiration, interesting ideas, and enrichment of daily routines." Then, come October, we'll be looking out for a lunar eclipse alongside the Hunter's Moon. We're ready for anything the cosmos send our way.
