Serena Williams Announces Sex of Baby No. 2
Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian are wildly close to being parents of two!
The tennis legend and Reddit co-founder recently found out the sex of their second baby, taking to social media to share the exciting news with the world.
On Monday, July 31, the video went live on Williams' YouTube channel, after she had previously teased, "Big reveal coming soon," on Instagram a day prior, prompting fans to drop their guesses in the comment section after she asked, "What do you think I’m having?"
At the dual "baby shower/gender reveal," where she noted from the very beginning she was "team pink," she let fans in on her feelings, stating that she was "very excited" and "a little nervous."
For the main event, a spectacular light show was set up with fireworks that would soon tell attendees (including the parents) whether it was a baby boy or girl on the way. In the video, an anxious Serena leaned on Alexis' shoulder as he held their daughter Olympia, 5, in his arms, while the trio all looked up at the sky together in anticipation.
"It's a... GIRL," the lights displayed, to the visible elation (and relief) of the family of three.
In the comment section, fans flooded in with congratulatory messages.
"She's re-creating little Serena and Venus. Love it for her. Their legacy continues. Congrats to the entire family," one gushed, referencing her sister, fellow tennis great Venus Williams.
"I’m crying like a baby! Too emotional," another expressed.
"This was so beautiful and they make such a beautiful family and he is so funny. Venus was in the back ground jumping and so happy. Her Dad was crying, so beautiful," a third wrote.
As Parade previously reported, the Olympic athlete first revealed her second pregnancy on the red carpet of this year's Met Gala in May.
