Serena Williams Reveals Exciting Family News at the Met Gala
While Serena Williams looked stunning when she showed up at the 2023 Met Gala, everyone couldn't help but notice that the tennis star is pregnant!
The 41-year-old actually subtly revealed the news on Instagram, posting photos of herself and husband Alexis Ohanian all dressed up to head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with the caption, "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala."
Williams and Ohanian already share one child, 5-year-old daughter Olympia.

On the Met Gala red carpet, Williams wore a black mermaid-shape gown with a white tulle skirt. The dress had sheer black long sleeves with white cuffs, as well as crystal embellishments in a geometric pattern around the skirt. The designer was Gucci.
The ensemble also had a cropped jacket to match, and the accessories were plenty of pearl necklaces and a headband decorated with pearls as well.
In 2022, Williams announced that she was stepping away from tennis to focus on other things. She wrote in an essay for Vogue, "I have never liked the word retirement. It doesn’t feel like a modern word to me...Maybe the best word to describe what I’m up to is evolution. I’m here to tell you that I’m evolving away from tennis, toward other things that are important to me."
In the same essay, she mentioned that Olympia frequently said to her, “I want to be a big sister," and Williams shared her own desire to have more kids as well.
In 2023, Williams is finally pregnant with baby number two, and she found the perfect star-studded event to announce the big news!
