In case you are the one person in the world who somehow missed the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez took the stage and completely ruled. Like, sorry football whomst? I only recognize the sporting event that is Shakira's belly dancing.
Anyway, if you're curious about how much these legends spent on their Halftime outfits, the answer appears to be a sh*t ton. According to Entertainment Tonight, the red crystal-covered boots Shakira wore throughout the performance cost freakin' $20,0000. For a pair of SHOES.
Fashion designer Dan Life embellished the shoes, which are actually 15-year-old boots from Shakira's closet. "So the boots were Shak’s favorite pair that she wore for so many years and so this was a very sentimental addition to her look," Life told ET, explaining that Shakira's stylists reached out to him to "help bring her idea to life."
"I had direction from her team, but during the final week, Shakira and I got to work together on it which was pretty cool," he said, adding that creating the look took a solid "10 days and nights of work."
Apparently, Life covered Shakira's boots with 30,000 Swarovski crystals, which is why the price tag ended up being so high at $20,0000. But her entire red outfit—designed by Peter Dundas—actually featured two million crystals, not to mention a removable corset for belly dancing. And that doesn't even include her guitar, which had another 70,000 crystals.
