Sheryl Crow
Sheryl Crow's net worth comes from decades of her own music, as well as singing with and for others.
Crow got her start singing jingles, earning a mint before she even landed her own record deal. She earned her touring stripes before hitting it big as well, working as a background singer for Grammy winners and music legends—and now, Crow is finally getting her flowers for being a Grammy winner and a legend in her own right with her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

How did Sheryl Crow become famous?
Crow was born in Kennett, Missouri, on Feb. 11, 1962, to two musicians: Her mother was a piano teacher and her father an attorney and trumpeter. After graduating high school, she got a degree in music education from University of Missouri's School of Music, where she was also a member of a local band.
After college, Crow taught elementary school music in Missouri and had a side gig performing jingles for commercials for major brands, including Toyota and McDonald's. She told CBS News that her Mickey D's jingle alone netted her a cool $40,000—more than $100,000 when adjusted for 2023's inflation.
Her success in advertising music led her to become a background singer for Michael Jackson, then for Don Henley, Belinda Carlisle, Jimmy Buffett, Stevie Wonder and more. In 1991, her song "Heal Somebody" was featured on the Point Break soundtrack, and that September, Kenny Loggins released the album Leap of Faith, which featured a duet with Crow called "I Would Do Anything."
In terms of her own success, Crow recorded a debut album in 1992, but scrapped the entire thing because she felt it was overproduced. She went back to the drawing board and hit it big in 1994 with her single "All I Wanna Do" from her album Tuesday Night Music Club, which was released almost a year earlier, but was a slow burn on the charts. In 1995, Crow won the Best New Artist Grammy, as well as Record of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Female Vocal Performance for "All I Wanna Do."
Tuesday Night Music Club sold more than 7.6 million copies in the United States and the U.K. alone, but not without some strife: Crow had a team of co-writers on the album who called themselves the "Tuesday Music Club," and the group feuded with Crow over songwriting credits.
Co-writer Brian Bottrell, who also worked with Crow on her self-titled second album, told The New York Times, "The truth is hard to describe, but it lies between what all the people were shouting. It was all very vague and very complicated. She wrote the majority of the album. The guys and I contributed writing and lyrics, including some personal things. However, the sound was the sound that I developed."
