Shocker! Jennifer Lopez Admits She’s Not ‘Good in Front of Crowds’ at People’s Choice
We’re not used to seeing calm, cool, collected, and perennially sultry Jennifer Lopez get this emotional in front of a massive audience.
But the actress and mom of twins Max and Emme wore her proverbial heart on her black Reem Acra sleeve when accepting the People’s Choice prize for best crime drama actress, for Shades of Blue.
“It’s awesome. There’re so many awards shows every year. It’s the industry voting on themselves. When the people vote, it means so much more. We do it for them,” she says.
So the reason for her very sweet outburst on stage? “I’m not good in front of crowds like that. I’m a performer. I need a dance number or a script. When I’m myself up there, I do feel vulnerable,” says Lopez.
Her twins, 8, are her sun, moon, stars, and everything in between. She calls them “my favorite people in the whole world. They’re the reason that I keep going when I don’t want to keep going. They’re the reason my heart is filled with love and joy every day. I’ve always had an amazing life. They took it to another level when they were born.”
The cop she plays on Blue is tough but troubled. “She’s such a fighter. She’s such a badass,” says Lopez, adding that her advice for other ladies is simple. “I would want young women to learn to love themselves first. It’s the key to life.”
