Shop the $9 wedding nail polish of Princess Eugenie and Meghan Markle
If anyone can pull off bold nail art, it’s Princess Eugenie—but for her walk down the aisle, the bride opted for something a little more subdued.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, the Princess followed royal protocol and went with a classic sheer pink shade: Essie Ballet Slippers ($9). The super-flattering neutral is wildly popular among brides, and is said to be the Queen’s nail color of choice for the past 30-plus years, making it a natural contender for Eugenie’s big day — and the shade worn by Meghan Markle for her nuptials, too
The fashion-forward royal is known to embrace nail art on special occasions, sporting the Union Jack for the 2012 Jubilee and a Christmas-themed manicure for dinner with the Queen during the holidays in 2015.
However, for her wedding to Jack Brooksbank, Eugenie kept it classic, pairing her stunning Peter Pilotto gown with the delicate hue.
Interestingly enough, Meghan Markle appeared to wear the same Essie color for her big day, while Kate Middleton went with a similar shade — Essie’s Allure — for her wedding in 2011.
Either way, it’s clear there’s a trend among royal brides and their manicures — pointing to the sheer pink shades in Essie’s collection. And at just $9 a bottle, this is one trend that will never go out of style!
