Shop the Shoe Brand Meghan Markle Swears By
When Meghan Markle shared a glimpse of her shoe closet back in June 2016 on her now-deleted Instagram, it was clear she had a penchant for designer heels.
But among the 40-odd pairs of Aquazurra, Christian Louboutin and Stuart Weitzman heels-worth an estimated $20,000-it’s clear that Sarah Flint is a particular favorite: Meghan has worn the New York-based brand over 20 times.
Meghan has been seen in Sarah Flint’s Natalie flats on a number of occasions, including her first official appearance with Prince Harry, at the Toronto Invictus Games in 2017. She was also wearing Sarah Flint on her first unofficial appearance with Harry-the Sophia boots-on a date in London in December 2016.
Meghan is especially fond of Sarah Flint’s black suede Jay pumps, which she’s worn several times for formal engagements like the dawn Anzac Day service at London’s Wellington Arch last month. She’s also been spotted in the Lily flats and Grear sandal too.
So what makes the five year-old brand’s footwear so special? FIT graduate Sarah Flint, who apprenticed at Diane von Furstenberg and Proenza Schouler, has mastered the marriage of comfort and style. Her classic designs blend seamlessly into Meghan’s on- and off-duty wardrobes. And most importantly, each pair boasts extra padding in the sole and an inset heel, which makes them easier to wear for longer periods of time. They’re practical too: the soles are leather with a rubber section in the center for better grip.
Meghan isn’t the first public figure to fall for Sarah Flint shoes. Kate Bosworth, Alexa Chung, Blake Lively and Amal Clooney are also fans, while Cindy Crawford is an investor in the brand.
Whether Meghan will choose Sarah Flint for tomorrow’s wedding remains to be seen, though it’s worth noting that the brand recently launched a bridal collection. The crystal-embellished Luisa pump-available as a heel and a flat-looks just the thing for a first dance in Windsor.
