Show us your bloomers! ARN looking for 2024 wildflower photos. Deadline extended
With summer arriving, let's bid spring farewell by displaying your best wildflower photographs from 2024.
Doug Hodel was a well-regarded Abilene photographer who died March 26, 2017. Each year, the Reporter-News has published its annual wildflower issue in his memory.
Rather than a contest, this year we will curate a selection of submissions to be published in the newspaper early this summer, with a larger gallery of your work on our website.
Deadline for submission has been extended to 7 p.m. July 2.
Photographs at a minimum should be 1800 pixels on the long end or 5 x 7 inches at 300 dpi. Save them as JPEG files at the highest resolution and email them to [email protected] with the subject line, "Wildflowers."
Like any good bouquet, a nice mix always pleases the eye. To that end, subjects could be landscapes, close-ups, pictures with animals and insects, photos with people of all ages and other unique details.
Each photograph should include the photographer's name, a daytime phone number, the photograph's location and information on any digital enhancement. Five submissions per entrant with one photograph per email.
