'Sister Wives' Kody Brown Opens Up About Relationship With His 2 Estranged Kids

Sister Wives star Kody Brown shed new light on his tense relationship with two of his 18 children in a statement shared during an upcoming episode of the series.
"I've reached out to Garrison and Gabriel," Kody said in a confessional set to air this Sunday, Oct. 15, obtained by E! News. "I reached out to them just before Christmas and I reached out to them after. No, they're blocking me."
"They're not interested in talking to me," the 54-year-old reality TV star added.
While Kody blames the kids for the difficult relationship, his 25-year-old son Garrison, whom he shares with his estranged wife Janelle Brown, has a different perspective, telling Kody's ex, Christine Brown, that it's his father who is really at fault for their lack of relationship.
"Since I last talked to Dad, I bought a house, I've gotten into school and I got the car that I wanted, that he told me I should never get," Garrison said, adding that his father "doesn't care to" know anything.
His mom also suggested that the dynamic between Kody and his children changed once they started getting older.
"I can observe that Kody seems to have trouble relating to his older children and he seems to dote on the younger children," she said, "and when my children were younger, it was very easy for him to be a father, right, because he was still kind of this important. He was important to them. His opinion mattered to them, his guidance mattered to them and now, because they question a little bit, I think it might be harder for Kody to feel like he's respected."
Though, in the eyes of Kody's only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, the onus isn't to be left solely on the patriarch, as she suggested that his relationships with his older children were "really good" until he and Christine separated in Nov. 2021.
"Christine left and all that changed," she said.
In the two years since the former couple–who were part of a polyamorous relationship that also included Robyn, Janelle and Meri Brown–three out of four of Kody's wives have broken up with the star, and Christine has since remarried, saying "I do" to her boyfriend, David Woolley in Utah last weekend.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on TLC.
