One Michigan boy went a little overboard on his father’s food delivery app, spending $1,000 on food delivery in a single night.

Keith Stonehouse of Chesterfield Township, Mich., said that his six-year-old son, Mason, was playing on his phone before bedtime when he managed to get into the Grubhub app. Around 9 p.m., Saturday night, the doorbell to the family’s home started ringing.

“I said, ‘What’s going on? Why are you bringing me food?'” Stonehouse told WDIV-TV.

Once he figured out what had happened, Stonehouse tried calling the restaurants to stop the orders, but it was too late at that point. The food orders totaled $1,000, which included a 25 percent tip on each order (Generous, Mason!)

“While all the food was being delivered and I figured out what happened, I went to talk to Mason about what he did and this is the only part that makes me laugh,” Stonehouse said to mlive.com. “I was trying to explain to him that this wasn’t food and he puts his hand up and stops me and says, ‘Dad, did the pepperoni pizzas come yet?’ I had to walk about of the room. I didn’t know if I should get mad or laugh.”

Since the ordeal, Mason has put forth $115 from his own piggy bank to pay for the cost of the food and has learned his lesson about placing Grubhub orders without permission. There is a happily ever after, though, as the GrubHub heard about the incident and responded by offering the family a $1,000 gift card.
