SJP Wears Nativity Scene Headpiece To Met Gala
Sarah Jessica Parker is never one to take the Met Gala theme lightly, which is why she's delivered some of the event's most memorable looks in the past.
This year, the actress once again went above and beyond with her interpretation of the theme in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana look. Delivering her own take on the religious-infused Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination theme, SJP wore a gilded gold gown featuring red heart accents and the most incredible train.
Taking the look to the next level, however, was the ornate golden headpiece that towered over the actress's head. The intricate headwear not only featured incredible detailing and jewels, but it also included an actual nativity scene. Yes, just a casual nativity scene headpiece-nothing to see here, folks.
On the red carpet, the actress told E!, "I am inspired by the themes. One can only do your best. This was particularly enjoyable because Dolce & Gabbana-they’re devoted observant Catholics-and so they’ve grown up with the church and imagery and they had a lot of strong feelings and beautiful sketches so it was easy.”
Inside the event, the actress showed off the magnitude of her massive train and long crimped ponytail from behind.
Her choice to wear Dolce & Gabbana this year is especially fitting, as the Italian fashion house is most-known for its religious-infused collections. Many of the brand's pieces will be featured on display in the Costume Institute's Heavenly Bodies exhibition.
Once again, SJP continues to master the art of the themed red carpet.
