Attention all Skittles lovers! This may be the day you’ve been waiting for, because Mars Wrigley is officially putting the Lime flavor pack in its Original and Sour packs. Let us explain why this is such a big deal …

Skittles first introduced its Five Fruity Flavors in 1979, which included Lime as the green piece. In 2013, however, the brand decided to replace the Lime flavor with Green Apple. Not to be dramatic, but many candy fans were not happy with the change. In May 2021, Skittles announced that it would be releasing an All Lime pack for the summer. We should have saw it coming, but that was clearly its way of preparing us for the fact that Lime would be returning to the Original and Sour packs.

“It’s no secret that Lime has been a hot topic for SKITTLES fans since we replaced them with Green Apple back in 2013. Green Apple has had a good run, but the fans have spoken and it’s time for Lime to return to the rainbow,” Fernando Rodrigues, Mars Wrigley Senior Brand Manager, said in a press release. “What better way to bring better moments to our loyal fans, than with the return of the most asked about flavor? The joy of Lime can’t be denied anymore. It is back. This time for good.”

Beginning in October 2021, you’ll begin seeing the Original Flavor packs with Lime on shelves. Then, it’ll have a national rollout over the next few months. You’ll be able to snag the Original and Sour packs with Lime, as well as Strawberry, Orange, Lemon, and Grape, in a range of sizes, including 1.8-ounce Single packs and 3.6-ounce Share Size. All is right in the candy world again!
