At 5:35 a.m.: Mercury enters Leo

In the morning, Mercury leaves sensitive Cancerian waters to enter expressive Leo. This is a moment for making bold declarations and having dramatic conversations. While Mercury transits the sign of the Lion, we want credit for the things we say and the ideas we come up with.  The messenger planet will zip through Leo in just over two weeks, so if we need to make a statement, sell an idea, or convince someone to sign on to a project, we can use this time to our advantage!  However, we risk needlessly dominating conversations, becoming fixated on our own opinions, or getting roped into deals that are flashy and entertaining but lack substance. A little moderation will go a long way, but “moderation” is rarely part of the Leo vocabulary!

At 8:21 a.m.: Chiron goes retrograde in Aries

After sun-up, Chiron stations retrograde in Aries, after which it will travel backward until December 23. It was last retrograde from July 15 to December 19 of 2021: Think back to this period to assess the themes that were arising for you around sensitive wounds or healing.  When Chiron is direct in Aries, specific events or conflicts prompt us to reconcile memories of past trauma. We might face insecurities regarding how we champion our goals or seek to establish ourselves as leaders.  Therefore, when Chiron is retrograde, we must commit to doing the deeper self-work around our wounding patterns and behaviors, dealing with the root issue at a psychological level. We may discover that we are subjecting ourselves to familiar anxieties because we’re more comfortable dealing with the devil we know than the devil we don’t.  Chiron retrograde asks us, “what would life be like if we re-imagined our past and acknowledged our strengths instead of allowing fear to dictate our future?”
