At 6:34 a.m.: The moon enters Cancer, and the moon void of course ends
In the morning, the moon enters Cancer, ending its void of course which began last night. Having satisfied our curiosity while in the territory of the excitable Gemini moon, we are now searching for a place where we belong. Over the next two days, we are less outgoing and more introspective, leaning heavily on the stabilizing influence of familiar people and places. We might use this time to connect with family or chosen family or to tackle domestic projects. However, our emotions are prone to dramatic fluctuations now, as we are at the mercy of the lunar tides.

At 6:57 p.m.: The moon is square the sun
In the late evening, the moon and the Libra sun square off, stimulating tension. During September 20’s full moon in Pisces, we were instructed to consider the pitfalls of self-sacrifice and to commit to giving of ourselves in more realistic ways. There is a difference between being compassionate and being a martyr. However, situations might have been too hazy during the perfection of the full moon for us to see this distinction. To this end, the last quarter moon forces us to consider our own needs! How are we employing self-care to avoid depleting ourselves? Are we using our creative powers, spiritual sensibilities, and devotional practices to fill up our own cup? We may still be too focused on others’ needs and keeping the peace at this juncture. We want to please, because we perceive our identity in light of our relationships. Yet, if we are trying to do everything for everyone, we are not giving others an opportunity to participate, much less reciprocate.
