Will Smith Teases Exciting Update About 'Bad Boys 4'
Will Smith and co-star Martin Lawrence announced the good news via Instagram on Tuesday.
It's official—the Bad Boys are coming back for round four.
Will Smith announced the exciting news via social media on Tuesday, revealing, with the help of co-star Martin Lawrence, that Bad Boys 4 is officially happening.
In his Instagram post, Smith, 54, recorded himself as he drove to Lawrence's home, teasing to the camera, "I got an announcement!" He then gave his followers a "hint" at what the news could be by playing a song from the Bad Boys II soundtrack, Nelly, Diddy and Murphy Lee's "Shake Ya Tailfeather."
"I wish I was you not knowing what I'm about to show me," he further teased before pulling up to Lawrence's home.
Once Smith arrived, Lawrence opened the door saying, "It's about that time?" while the two actors both started screaming in excitement, repeatedly chanting, "It's about that time."
"It's official y'all," Smith stated, referring to the franchise's fourth film. "Bad boys for life, baby!"

The King Richard actor was seen holding up four fingers in an attempt to name the upcoming film, Bad Boys 4 Life, though Lawrence reminded him that the third installment was already titled, Bad Boys for Life.
"We shouldn't have called it that, though," he admitted, but it didn't seem to matter as he went on to exclaim, "This is Bad Boys 4. It's official!"
It was previously unclear if Bad Boys 4 was even going to happen after Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards last March.
But Lawrence told Ebony in July 2022 that the film was not canceled as a result of the infamous Oscars slap, and that the duo have "one more" installment to make, "at least."
Sony Pictures confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday that the sequel is in "early preproduction" at the studio, though an exact release date has not yet been scheduled.
