McDonald's Releases First Holiday McFlurry in Seven Years
There's something extremely pure about McFlurries. They're made of just two things, usually—soft serve and your candy or cookie of choice—and yet, they satisfy a very specific craving. Unlike their counterparts, new flavors are rarely added—Dairy Queen has a new Blizzard of the Month...every month. This winter, though, the Golden Arches is gifting sweet tooths with a special seasonal flavor, available for a limited time and at first, exclusive to UberEats.
We'll get back to that in a second, but first, the flavor: snickerdoodle! More specifically, vanilla soft serve mixed with crumbles of crunchy cinnamon cookies. It's the perfect mix of holiday flavor without going overboard in any one direction...just a nice, sweet cookie mixed into your ice cream. Some Southern California McDonald's locations tested the flavor this summer, with one YouTuber who tried the McFlurry giving it a rave review.
The flavor is McDonald's first holiday McFlurry in seven years. Back in 2012, the fast food chain offered a Holiday Mint McFlurry made with soft serve, peppermint candy, and mint syrup. In 2017, they served a limited-edition seasonal Rolo McFlurry for a few months during summer that had last appeared on menus in 2012 (a good year for the McFlurry, it seems), and more recently, the Stroopwafel McFlurry from the Netherlands was on menus for a limited time.
And to start, Mickey D's is making it just a little harder to come by. For one week in November—the 11th through the 17th—the dessert will be sold exclusively via UberEats. Then, in late November, it'll be available in stores nationwide for a limited time. The perk of the UberEats delivery is that, for those of you living in places where it's already cold, you won't have to venture outside to try the frozen treat. And, you know, for those who just prefer their food delivered...McDonald's sees you, too.
Between the Snickerdoodle McFlurry, Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough Blizzard, and Cinnamon Kit-Kats, there's no shortage of cinnamon-y snacks to enjoy this season. We're here for it.
