Is SNL new tonight (Dec. 23, 2023)? No. Saturday Night Live is on holiday hiatus until Jan. 20, 2024, at which point the show will return with host Jacob Elordi.
The Euphoria star, who most recently played Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola's Priscilla, will make his SNL debut alongside first-time musical guest Reneé Rapp, who will soon be seen as Regina George in the upcoming Mean Girls musical adaptation.
The last episode of 2023 saw Kate McKinnon, who took home two Emmys for her work as an SNL cast member, back at Studio 8H for her hosting debut. She was joined by musical guest Billie Eilish, who performed “What Was I Made For?" from the Barbie soundtrack. McKinnon has her own connection to the blockbuster—she starred in the movie as Weird Barbie.
SNL premiered its 49th season on Oct. 14, more than five months after the late-night comedy show was forced to wrap its previous season early due to the now resolved WGA strike. (Like other late-night programs, SNL returned when the SAG strike was still ongoing and with the union's full blessing; but that strike has since ended, too.) Pete Davidson hosted the premiere with musical guest Ice Spice, and Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dropped in for cameos.
