Snoop Shares His Craziest Martha Stewart Story
Martha Stewart is nothing if not practical. The self-described "maniacal perfectionist" is known for showing people the better way to fold a fitted sheet, frost a cupcake, and bake macaroni and cheese, so it only makes sense Stewart would come up with her own trick for protecting herself while in prison years ago. One that seems very on-brand.
While on the Watch What Happens Live after show, Stewart's friend -- and cohost of their show, -- Snoop Dogg was asked to tell the best story the domestic mogul had ever shared about her 5-month prison stint. (Back in 2004, Stewart did time in West Virginia’s Alderson Federal Prison Camp after being convicted of obstructing justice and lying about a stock sale, according to CNN.)
“She told me that when she went in there they told her to put some newspapers on to protect herself from getting stabbed and she was like, ‘Why not use my magazines? They’re a little bit thicker,’” the rapper replied.
"You know what? There's really only like, Oprah and Martha Stewart could do that: pack themselves with their magazines," host Andy Cohen said, laughing.
This story hasn't been confirmed by Stewart, but given the star's knack for finding new uses for ordinary items, it wouldn't be too surprising if she considered donning copies of Martha Stewart Living like Kevlar.
Stewart, however, isn't wasting any time dwelling on the past. She was recently named Chopped's newest judge, launched her latest Celebrations craft line at Michael's stores, and is doling out advice on preparing your vegetable garden for spring. That Stewart, so versatile.
