Social media thinks Kylie Jenner named her baby girl Butterfly
For some, Sunday’s Super Bowl was overshadowed by the news that Kylie Jenner’s baby had been born. And it didn’t take long for the baby-name agents to get on the case. The suspected moniker? Butterfly.
If #KylieJenner named her daughter “Butterfly”…please no. Just..no. That’s just mean to do to a child. What do you call her for short? Butt? Don’t do it #Kylie #kyliejennerbaby #kyliesbaby @KylieJenner

I see @KylieJenner is calling her daughter Butterfly. Does she not realize that the poor girl will have to go to school some day?

All these Rumours that Kylie Jenner is going to call her baby ‘Butterfly’ to keep in with the family tradition she should call it ‘Katerpilla’. #kyliejennerbaby #KylieJenner

Fans pointed to overwhelming evidence for the chosen name: On Sunday, celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy posted an Instagram photo of the matching butterfly tats he gave Jenner and the baby’s father, Travis Scott, captioning the post: “Congrats to @kyliejenner & @travisscott for your little miracle.” It’s unknown when the new parents got inked, but some speculate it was while Jenner was pregnant.

There was also this November Instagram photo from Jenner — she’s wearing blingy pink rings in the shape of butterflies — which may have been from a maternity shoot.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old new mom posted a baby announcement on Instagram, and an 11-minute YouTube video called “To Our Daughter,” detailing her highly secretive pregnancy. In the footage, Jenner is seen wearing a pink butterfly necklace.
The video also gave us a tour of Jenner’s nursery, which has butterfly wall decor.
And in May, Jenner tweeted a lone butterfly emoji before quickly deleting it.
According to the website Nameberry, Butterfly means “fluttery and flighty.” And in Greek, the name Vanessa translates to “Butterfly” although, with cousins North, Saint, and Chicago West, it’s doubtful Jenner would go for something so mainstream.
In her Instagram baby announcement, Jenner said, “My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world.” And it seems her baby’s name is equally private — at least for now.
