Learn more about your solar options at a workshop at the Hampton Town Hall.

The Hampton Green Energy Committee will sponsor “Is Solar Right For Your Home?” on September 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Chamae Mejias will discuss solar benefits, financing options, and battery storage.

“Homeowners go solar for many reasons,” Mejias said. “Solar panels reduce your energy bills, minimize your reliance on fossil fuels, and increase your independence from your utility. They increase the value of your home by about four percent on average, based on multiple studies.”

The Green Energy Committee has been an active group for over a decade, helping members of the community save money and become more efficent.

“The Green Energy Committee encourages people to attend our workshop to find out more about how to reduce their energy consumption and take advantage of incentives for solar energy and other clean energy measures,” said Kate Donnelly, the committee’s chair. “Most homeowners qualify for a thirty percent tax credit on installations. The cost of solar has come down significantly over the past decade, while electricity prices have dramatically increased.”

The Hampton Town Hall is located at 164 Main Street/Route 97.

For more information on the workshop, call Donnelly at 860-604-4846.
