Royal style met the red carpet at last night's Golden Globes when one guest channeled Kate Middleton's regal wardrobe. Violinist Serena McKinney, who attended the awards ceremony with Best Original Score nominee Ludwig Goransson, wore a magenta version of the Duchess of Cambridge's embellished Alexander McQueen cape dress, which she originally sported at a state dinner last February.

Despite the difference in hues, both dresses feature a lightweight high-low cape with stunning crystal embellishments on the shoulders over a pleated floor-length skirt. McKinney accessorized with mismatched earrings-one pearl hoop and one dangling string of pearls-and a silver bracelet bag. For beauty, she wore a slicked back bob and smoky eye shadow that matched her gown.

Her man, Goransson, also showed off his style in a gold patterned blazer and bowtie. The Grammy-nominated Swedish composer, who's also a frequent Childish Gambino collaborator and producer, earned a Globe nomination for scoring Black Panther, but the award ultimately went to Justin Hurwitz of First Man.

Kate first wore a champagne pink version of the McQueen dress on February 1 last year to a state dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo. The formal occasion was part of her and Prince William's royal visit of Norway, where they were hosted by the nation's own royal family.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked like a grecian goddess in the billowy dress, and completed the look with a sophisticated updo, a box clutch, diamond drop earrings, and a diamond bracelet. At the time, the royal was still pregnant with her youngest child, Prince Louis, and the McQueen gown made for an impressive piece of maternity attire.

Kate's blush iteration of the gown is no longer available online, but McKinney's raspberry version is shoppable here. You can also cop a white, short-sleeved version of the dress below.
