Son Of A Nutcracker! General Mills Is Releasing ‘Elf’ Cereal For The Holidays
The moment Thanksgiving is over, it’s Christmas movies, Christmas movies, and more Christmas movies. Elf was released in 2003 and has earned its spot in our regular viewing rotation during the holiday season. The beloved movie is now a cereal, thanks to General Mills, and only cotton-headed ninny muggins won’t be trying it.
According to Buddy the Elf, there are four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corn, and syrup. That last one inspired the new cereal, since we all know that Buddy loves maple syrup, especially on his spaghetti. The festive cereal is made of maple-flavored corn puffs and green and red holiday tree marshmallows. Could it get any better?
Although we don’t have an exact date, we know that the limited-edition Elf Cereal will be on shelves in time for the holidays. It’ll be available at grocery retailers nationwide in a mid-size ($2.50) and family-size ($3.99) boxes.
In addition to the Elf Cereal, General Mills is also bringing back its limited-edition Sugar Cookie Crunch Cereal for the holidays. As the name suggests, the whole wheat and rice squares taste like sugar cookies, so breakfast is getting a whole lot sweeter again.
Obviously, we’ll have to alternate between both of the seasonal cereals, but we’ll be reaching for the Elf Cereal first. Is anyone else picturing themselves on a snowy Saturday morning watching Elf for millionth time while devouring a box of the maple cereal? Because we so are.
