It's an understatement to say that the introduction of the chicken sandwich at Popeyes took America by storm this year. While we don't have royals on this side of the pond, we do have Oprah Winfrey and Serena Williams.

Even though she has her own cable network, Oprah couldn't get even her hands on those buttery buns before they sold out. After what seemed like the longest three months ever. order was finally restored to the universe when the sandwich returned to Popeyes' permanent menu. That's when Serena made eating the crispy delight with your boo the ultimate anniversary present.

With all the hype, it was inevitable that other fast food brands would attempt to cash in on the Great Chicken Craze of 2019. Queue: Sonic.

America's favorite drive-in has now added Chicken Slingers to its line-up. You may be sitting there thinking, "A full-sized classic crispy chicken sandwich already has a permanent slot on Sonic's menu." You're right . . . but slingers are actually the size of sliders . . . and they have just 350 calories or less. So no guilt, right?!

Similar to Popeyes, these lil' gems also come in both classic and spicy seasoning options. According to Chew Boom, each patty gets "topped with pickles and mayo on a brioche slider roll." Better yet, they retail for about $2.49.

However, you may have to wait a little longer to get your hands on one of these tasty treats. So far, they have only been spotted at select locations in the state of Kansas.
