Southwest flight attendant carries passenger's baby
A Southwest Airlines flight attendant who empathized with the plight of an exhausted mom decided to step in and carry the passenger’s toddler. Video of the heartwarming gesture is now going viral on Facebook.
Savannah Blum had just boarded a connecting flight from Las Vegas to Reno after visiting family in Austin, Texas when her 19-month-old daughter, Brittain, decided it was the perfect time to have a meltdown, according to NBC New York. That’s when a flight attendant, known only as Jessica, approached the overwhelmed mom and said, “Come here, baby. I got her, Mama. You go sit down.”

Jessica took baby Brittain in her arms and continued to walk down the aisle, closing overhead bins while talking in a nurturing tone to the toddler, who soon calmed down and began blowing kisses to her fellow passengers. Blum began filming the pair and decided to post the video to Facebook on Monday.

“Everyone loves this little girl — even Southwest passengers and flight attendants,” Blum, an elementary school teacher who was returning from spring break vacation, captioned the clip. Commenters called it “priceless,” “precious” and “so cute.”
Some moms on Facebook could relate. “That woman is awesome … mommas need a break sometimes!” one wrote. “Oh my word!! Blowing all those kisses! Too adorable!” another commented.
Of course, the passengers on the receiving end of Brittain’s air kisses were equally charmed. Many “awws” can be heard in the video, and one woman who was aboard the flight commented on Blum’s video, “I was on this flight … I asked the flight attendant how she got so lucky. She replied ‘Pretty cute carry-on, right?’ Made my 14-hour day of travel sweeter!”
One person asked Blum on Facebook whether Brittain was ever looking nervous about having a stranger hold her, but the mom said, “No, not at all! It’s just hard for her to sit still for so long lol.”
Yahoo Lifestyle has reached out to Southwest to try to find out more about “Jessica.” The airline told NBC New York that its crew members “take great pride in delivering our legendary Southwest Hospitality, so it’s not surprising that one of our amazing flight attendants shared her Southwest Heart while helping to care for one of our youngest customers in such a sweet, fun way!”
