When you bought your SodaStream last year, it was probably part of a New Year's resolution to drink more water. But now that it's the holidays, it's time to put that sparkling water machine to a better use-and make sparkling wine with it.

Just in time for Christmas, SodaStream is introducing Sparkling Gold, a Riesling-flavored concentrate that produces a 10% alcoholic drink when you mix one part Sparkling Gold with five parts sparkling water.

While you might still want to save the good stuff for special occasions, this boozy invention is kind of genius for whenever you want a glass of bubbly by yourself but don't want to open an entire bottle.

But does it taste good?

According to an independent market research test SodaStream conducted in Germany in October, 76 percent of people surveyed enjoyed the taste of SodaStream's Sparkling Gold "as much as or more than French champagne brands Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot."

But don't go rushing out to the store to buy this just yet. Currently, it's only being sold on SodaStream's German website, where for five Euros you can buy a 200-ml bottle of Sparkling Gold that produces 12 glasses of ready to drink wine.

While SodaStream didn't immediately respond to whether Sparkling Gold will be sold in the United States, we're crossing our fingers that it'll make its way across the Atlantic sooner than later.
