The Spicy New Costco Rotisserie Chicken Hack You’ve Got to Try
Costco Wholesale
Akin to life, grocery items at Costco come and go. We recently had to bid farewell to the beloved food court churros and right before that, Costco discontinued another longstanding favorite, the Combo Pizza. The big-box retail store selects certain items to sunset as a means to make more space to test out new products, but there's one item that they've been smart enough to never, ever touch: the $5 rotisserie chicken.
What can we say about this iconic grocery item that hasn't already been said by thousands of diehard Costco super-fans? The bird rivals any rotisserie-style chicken you attempt to cook at home. It's so good, you could open it up and just pick away at it until you're down to the bone. And while the rotisserie chicken from Costco's meat section easily pleases customers, the internet is filled with brilliant fan-generated ideas for new-fangled ways to enjoy the budget-friendly protein.
In a recent TikTok post, one such rotisserie chicken fan shared that their favorite way to eat the meat is to drizzle it with some of Fly By Jing's Sichuan Chili Crisp, which is available in the condiment section of most Costco stores in the Northeast. To get the most bang for their buck, they also take shreds of the rotisserie chicken and dunk them straight into the jar of chili crisp. The fan, who is also the narrator, ended their video by saying, "This hack has seriously changed my life and you can feed 4 people with this dinner."

Another commenter made a bold statement: "Just pour the whole [jar] over the chicken." When it's hard enough to make any dinner at home as enjoyable as a restaurant meal, a whole chicken drenched in an aromatic, spicy oil with crunch and punch could actually be fun for the whole family.
These hacks go on to demonstrate why this humble grocery store meat dish, after all these years, will never go out of style. As long as the limit does not exist on fan-driven culinary innovations, the Costco rotisserie chicken will continue to reinvent itself.
