Spring Beauty Bargains Under $20

Here in Birmingham, Alabama, Southern Living headquarters is located not even a mile away from our go-to Target store (.9 miles if you’re asking Google Maps). As you can imagine, we’re fairly attuned to any changes going on there. So when they recently reorganized and restocked the Health and Beauty section, our staffers were atwitter with discussion about new finds and ecstatic to find a few cult products we once had to order online.

But our Target isn’t the only one seeing changes. From a collaboration line with Korean beauty superpower Peach and Lily to sections devoted to Euro-favorite brands like La Roche-Posay, you may have noticed some new additions in yours. Wondering where to start? These are our editors’ favorites. Bonus: they’re all under $20.

  1. Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Soothing Mask: For those days when your skin is angrier than Dorothy was at Sophia that time she drove her car without her permission while using a phone book as a booster seat (Season 5 Episode 8, for you Golden Girls fans), this $3.50 sheet mask will have your face looking downright cherubic in less than 10 minutes.

  2. Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentre: If you feel like you’re constantly skincare speed dating with day moisturizers, take a break and pick up this no-nonsense French favorite. Soothing, glow-ifying, slightly blur-ifying, you might just find that it was the one was waiting for you all along.

  3. Mrs. Meyer’s Body Wash: The company that made cleaning your house fun, or at least smell better, has recently introduced a line for cleaning your skin. Their Honeysuckle-scented body wash gives us the same aromatherapy fix that the hand soap sitting on our sinks does while providing a gentle, non-irritating lather.

  4. Eco Tools Perfecting Blender Duo Makeup Sponges: If you’re still shelling out $20 a piece for BeautyBlenders, these greener options offer the same effect for half the price. Plus, they include a smaller sponge perfect for curved areas like eyelids and around your nose.

  5. La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser: While spending $15 on face wash at Target might seem a few crayons short of a box, this bottle is like a secret economy-size deal of this European-beloved brand minus the heinous, cumbersome packaging. With a liquid-to-foam formula, you’ll use less product and with 13.5 ounces, it will provide you 2-3 months of freshness than the typical three weeks most cleansers do.
