My order: Besides breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches, this new-to-Springfield eatery sells pastries, quiches, bagels, flavored cream cheeses and a variety of hot and cold drinks. I had a Ham & Dill lunch sandwich on a rye bagel ($11), which had ham, lettuce, tomato and a schmear of dill pickle cream cheese. The pickle schmear nicely elevated what was already a tasty combo. My companion ordered the Club sandwich on a sesame bagel ($13), a blend of turkey, ham, American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Again, it was a home run. Lunch sandwiches come with a choice of side dish, which includes potato salad, coleslaw and macaroni salad. I also had a black and white cookie ($4.49), a 5-inch New York classic that tasted freshly baked.
Likes: Dough for the bagels is made in New York City and shipped daily to Springfield. It’s baked in the store each morning.
Dislikes: Prices are listed on the kiosk screen, but it would be nice to know the cost of items before you get to that point. (Only the prices of breakfast sandwiches are listed on a wall.) There is no inside dining.
What would I order next time? For a breakfast sandwich, I might get The Lox (smoked salmon, cream cheese, red onion and capers for $13) or the Chicken & Waffles (chicken cutlet, maple bacon, pecan cream cheese and syrup for $12).
