Sprite Is Releasing A New Ginger Flavor That Sounds So Refreshing
When it comes to ginger-flavored sodas, ginger ale is king. But Sprite is here with a new ginger flavor that just might change that.
It’s called Sprite Ginger, and it’s now available across the country in your standard sizes, according to a press release from the Coca-Cola Company, which makes Sprite. The drink isn’t technically a ginger ale: Instead, it takes your standard Sprite lemon and lime flavor and adds a hit of ginger.
“With every sip, you’ll get the crisp, refreshing cut-through of lemon-lime up front, balanced with a hit of ginger on the back-end,” Sprite brand manager Mark Shorey said in the press release: “The Sprite Ginger launch is all about reinvention…reimagining the signature attributes Sprite fans know and love, with something new and unexpected.”
Oh! There’s also a Sprite Ginger Zero Sugar, in case you were wondering.
According to early reviews on Instagram, the new flavor tastes as good as it sounds:
Coca-Cola didn’t just launch a new flavor—the company also rolled out something called the Ginger Collection, which is the brand’s first creative capsule collection. For the limited-edition line of clothes, Sprite recruited streetwear designer Jeff Staple, who crowdsourced creatives on Instagram, to help design the clothes. A graphic designer and multimedia artist called Bluboy was selected, and the collection—which includes graphic tees, hoodies, a skateboard deck and other accessories in green and gold—was born.
Sprite plans to share the story of the Ginger Collection and the people who helped create it over the next few weeks, giving away select items to people in the process. So, someday soon, maybe you can dive into a can of Sprite Ginger while wearing a Sprite Ginger-inspired hoodie. Dream of dreams.
