Spy x Family Season 2 Release Date Revealed
SPY x FAMILY Season 2 Anya
Everyone’s favorite anime about a telepathic schoolgirl, Spy x Family, set the world on fire when it aired last year, and now it’s almost impossible to go anywhere without seeing merch for the show. Naturally, with its overwhelming popularity, it was almost immediately renewed for a second season — and we now have the release date.
Crunchyroll announced in a blog post on its website that season 2 of Spy x Family is set to start airing in just a couple of weeks, on October 7, 2023. That’s the same day the series is set to start airing in Japan, so English viewers won’t have to wait too long and don’t have to risk getting spoiled on social media.
Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the series, for those who aren’t in the know:
World peace is at stake and secret agent (aka Loid Forger) must undergo his most difficult mission yet—pretend to be a family man. Posing as a loving husband and father, he’ll infiltrate an elite school to get close to a high-profile politician. He has the perfect cover, except his wife’s a deadly assassin and neither knows each other’s identity. But someone does, his adopted daughter who’s a telepath.
The second season of the show will be available on Crunchyroll on that date in the following regions:
North America
Central America
South America
Europe
Africa
Oceania
Middle East
CIS
At a later date, Spy x Family season 2 will be dubbed into English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. Crunchyroll doesn’t say when these dubs will be available, but we imagine it’ll take at least a few months before they start becoming available — 2024 at the earliest.
Like the first season of the anime, the second season of Spy x Family will be produced by WIT Studio and Cloverworks, the former of which recently worked on Pokémon: Paldean Winds, and the latter of which recently worked on the excellent Bocchi the Rock. Kazuhiro Furuhashi is returning to work on the second season, while also supervising the upcoming film, Spy x Family Code: White.
The announcement comes shortly after the announcement of an adorable Spy x Family video game earlier in the month, which will feature Anya and Bond filling out a photo diary by completing incredible minigames.
