The parallel giant slalom event was taking place as planned in PyeongChang on Saturday, until Austria's Daniela Ulbing took the course. Not only did Ulbing have to worry about barreling down a gigantic, icy mountain at maximum speed or whatever one worries about while trying to obtain a gold medal, but she also had to keep in mind ... a squirrel.

Yes, a squirrelly squirrel squirreled its way slopeside during slalom time and surely almost got itself squashed. Like, really, tho. There's footage.

The squirrel froze, as they do, and the elite, highly trained competitor did not, as they don't. They all went on to live happily ever after, as the squirrel lived and Ulbing came out on top in her heat.

But also, she probably hates squirrels now, right?
