Starbucks Is Giving Away FREE Reusable Cups Nationwide Tomorrow, And They’ll Make Your Coffee Cheaper All Winter
Starbucks is giving customers an early holiday gift once again. Last year, customers went bonkers when the store handed out free reusable red cups to coincide with the return of Starbucks' classic holiday drink line-up. This year, the offer still stands, but the cup has a makeover to tie into 2019's "Merry Coffee" theme. Here's everything you need to know about snagging your own free cup.
When can I get one?
Thursday, November 7, starting when stores open and continuing until they're out of stock.
What does it look like?
Whereas last year's was an all red cup with the Starbucks logo front and center, this one has "Merry Coffee" wrapped around it in fun block letters, as well as the classic Starbucks ordering system on the back (you know, the boxes where baristas make notes for decaf, milk, syrup, etc.) and a smaller Starbucks logo within the text.
Do you I have to buy anything?
Yes, to get the free cup, you have to order a holiday beverage in any size and flavor. While there are most likely new seasonal drinks coming soon, starting November 7, winter staples like the Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Eggnog Latte will be back on menus. Last year, some stores ran out of reusable cups within hours, so the earlier you can plan your Starbucks run, the better.
Any other perks?
You betcha! Once you've secured your free cup, you can bring it back throughout the season for discounted coffee. When customers in the U.S. and Canada purchase a drink after 2 p.m. between November 7 and January 7 with their reusable cup in hand, they'll get 50 cents off the order. The only catch: It has to be a holiday drink in a size grande or larger.
