Starbucks Is Now Selling a Trippy ‘Galaxy’ Frappuccino—But There's a Catch!
Pumpkin Spice Latte season is only a few days away at Starbucks. But until then, there’s still plenty of time to get Instagram-friendly Frappuccinos instead. And one of the latest crazy-colored creations is their Galaxy Frappuccino, designed to look like a trip through outer space.
The Galaxy Frappuccino was developed by Starbucks’ product innovation team in Brazil, according to a spokesperson for the company. It’s a crème-based drink with a cotton candy flavor and grape "cosmic dust,” topped with whipped cream and pink and blue glitter. When you mix the drink, it creates an “ultra-violet galaxy look” as the ingredients swirl around.
But here’s the catch, because there's always a catch: You can only get one for a few days, and not in the United States. The Galaxy Frappuccino is only available from August 22 through August 26 in select areas across Latin America and the Caribbean, including Aruba, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Puerto Rico, Peru, and Trinidad & Tobago. And it’s not the only new Frappuccino that’s not available in the States; Mexico’s locations get cotton candy and bubblegum-flavored drinks, too.
If you're stuck in the States, don't fret: You can check out some of Starbucks' newly added drinks, like the Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew and the syrup- and dairy-free Iced Vanilla Bean Coconutmilk Latte. They might not be as Instagrammable, but they're still perfect to beat that late August heat.
