Starbucks is reportedly releasing several new seasonal items as part of an extended summer menu.
We have it on good word that the nationwide coffee joint is currently putting the finishing touches on nearly half a dozen new drinks–all of which are caffeinated, some more than others–and two new food items that will satisfy your savory and sweet cravings.
Foodie influencer Markie_Devo, who regularly previews and tests out new fast food and grocery store aisle snack products, revealed that a Starbucks employee hinted that the brand is working on adding three iced energy drinks and two non-dairy cold coffee beverages in response to the "recent craze for energy drinks."
According to the May 29 Instagram post, the inbound summer drinks include a sugar-free Tropical Citrus iced green tea that contains 205 mg of caffeine, a sugar-free Melon Burst iced tea and a frozen Passion Tropical Citrus drink blended with strawberry puree, both of which contain 180 milligrams of caffeine.
As for the dairy-free drinks, the influencer claimed a new blended coffee drink and cold brew are headed to participating locations as soon as next month.
The fresh Frappuccino, Cinnamon Crumble Oatmilk is described as incorporating "Toasted cinnamon syrup, Frappuccino Roast Coffee, creamy oatmilk and ice, finished with a nondairy whipped cream and cinnamon crumble topping. (the whipped cream is Oatly vanilla flavored heavy cream)." The Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew is a little more straightforward, offering slow-steeped coffee "accented with vanilla and topped with a float of nondairy vanilla sweet cream."
Coming to Starbucks' food menus as soon as Tuesday, June 25, is an Egg, Pesto & Mozzarella Sandwich, which is said to feature an egg frittata topped with kale, basil pesto and mozzarella on a toasted cheddar and onion bun, as well as the Blueberry Streusel Muffin, which combines juicy blueberries with "notes of vanilla" and a "cinnamon streusel topping."
While the speculated drop has yet to be confirmed by the company, fans aren't letting that stop them from celebrating the expected additions.
"I’m so excited for the oatly oat whip!! Not really a refreshers fan but I am interested in the watermelon cucumber. People are gunna be stoked that they’re sugar free," one enthralled social media user shared.
"I’m super stoked to get to try a dairy free sweet cream cold brew and that there’s gonna be dairy free whipped cream too????," a second added.
"as someone with a milk allergy I'm so damn hyped for the new whipped cream and sweet cream," a different Instagram user confessed. "benefits lactose intolerant folks too ??."
"I'm excited to try all of these!" a fourth exclaimed.
Others were equally excited about the new food options, with one declaring, "omg can’t wait to try the pesto sandwich."
"Usually I don’t buy food at Starbucks because it’s so expensive especially with a drink but that egg pesto mozzarella sandwich sounds really good," another wrote.
Someone else seemingly confirmed the rumored arrival, admitting, "Hoping my order for it at my store arrives quickly so I can do a taste test for all of them."
A rep for Starbucks told Parade that the company doesn't have any additional information to share about its 2024 summer menu just yet, but they did reiterate information provided in an April 30 earnings call that said Starbucks is bringing a new "handcrafted energy beverage" to stores this year.
