Start Your Morning Strong With a Daily Devotional for Today, June 5, 2024

Daily morning devotional

Studying the Bible is something that Christians know we should be doing regularly. After all, God's Word says, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it" (Joshua 1:8, NIV).

While we understand the importance of daily study, many of us have trouble turning it into a consistent practice and spiritual discipline—especially when it might feel as though we have no free time in our busy schedules.

Fortunately, there are quick ways to start your morning (or any time of day, really) strong and rooted in our religious beliefs, which brings us to this short, daily devotional (and Bible verse of the day) for today, Wednesday, June 5, 2024!

Scripture Reading for Today, June 5, 2024

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”1 Thessalonians 5:11

Daily Devotional

It's all too easy to be "me-focused" with so many priorities we're balancing on a regular basis—we all have concerns on our minds, dreams we want to achieve and responsibilities we need to handle.

Let's not forget the importance of looking out for those around us at the same time, however. Just one smile, one compliment, one acknowledgment of someone's hard work, one thoughtful comment on someone's latest social media post, etc., could make someone's entire day.

Encouraging the people around us helps them flourish and feel valued/loved/appreciated. What could be better?

Daily Prayer

Jesus, we know we're sometimes on auto-pilot or we have tunnel-vision while crossing responsibilities off our "to-do" lists throughout the day. Instead of focusing only on ourselves, please give us eyes to see the opportunities around us—and how, exactly, we can make a difference in someone else's day. Amen.
