Hey, Bud! Where do we go for DFW Restaurant Week this year? We always go.

Reservations are open for the special deals Aug. 1-Sept. 1. It’s a chance to try new places.

? The $49 pipian salmon dinner Aug. 1-25 at Don Artemio Mexican Heritage, 3268 W. Seventh St.

? The $29 crabcake Benedict or chicken-and-waffles brunch Aug. 1-Sept. 1 at Fitzgerald, 6115 Camp Bowie Blvd.

? The $49 dinner with prime rib, steak Oscar, New York strip or sea bass Aug. 1-Aug. 18 at Mac’s, 909 S. Main St., Grapevine. (Maybe go twice.)

? The $49 dinner with steak Oscar, osso buco or spicy salmon topped with crab at Zack’s Bistro, 900 E. Copeland Road (Interstate 30), Arlington.

Pulido’s: Same sauces, low prices

The newly reopened Pulido’s at 2900 Pulido St. stayed the same in good ways.

The sauces and salsas taste almost exactly the same but fresher. The queso is improved.

Most of all, the lunch prices are still under $10, and they’re good seven days. People like the puffed tacos.

Puffed tacos are not puffy tacos

No. Pulido’s actually serves puffed tacos, a round, bowl-like shell.

“Puffy” tacos are folded, cushiony filled shells popular in San Antonio. They’re remembered here from long-gone Caro’s and are now here at The Original, 1400 N. Main St., and at Lupe Tortilla, 9409 North Freeway.
