'Stop Kavanaugh' temporary tattoo makes Emmys red carpet political
It’s evident that people are making a statement with their fashion at this year’s Emmy Awards. But Sarah Sophie Flicker, wife of Jesse Peretz, director of the TV show GLOW, is making the loudest proclamation with the words “Stop Kavanaugh” written on her arm.
Appearing alongside her husband on the red carpet, Flicker was ready to grab people’s attention in a bright red dress with matching hair accessories. The best accessory of all, however, was spread across her flexed arm: a plea for viewers to call their senators to stop the vote confirming Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
In a video posted to Flicker’s Instagram stories before she stepped out on the red carpet, Peretz is seen giving his wife a hand with the look, as he uses a permanent marker to write out the words, as well as the phone number of the U.S. Capitol switchboard. But this isn’t the most outspoken that Flicker has been about keeping Kavanaugh off of the Supreme Court bench.
Even before sexual assault allegations were made public against the nominee, Flicker had posted a number of messages to her social media against Kavanaugh, about toxic masculinity, and in solidarity with the #MeToo movement.

With this latest exhortation on one of the biggest red carpets of the year, Flicker is doing her part to get her message out there.
