Olive Kopelman
Olive Barrymore Kopelman was born on Sept. 26, 2012. On an episode of The Ellen Degeneres Show 10 weeks after Olive was born, Barrymore revealed the inspiration for the name.
"I was reading a book with my husband," Barrymore told Degeneres. "I was three months pregnant, and they said your baby is the size of an olive, and that was it. We never looked back."
Frankie Barrymore Kopelman
Fittingly, Barrymore returned to Ellen to explain the name "Frankie" two years later, after the birth of her second daughter on April 22, 2014.
“Every [name] started sounding like a color or a food,” Barrymore quipped. “I love the name Pepper so much, but we were like, ‘Olive and Pepper. Like that’s two things you find in a pantry.’”
Ultimately, it appears it was a matter of fate.
“It was just a name that came to my husband and I a few months before she was born, and we were sort of like, ‘I think this is it,’” Barrymore said. “And then we gave ourselves the room to change our mind, but we never did. Not the most interesting story.”
